Ley-Line official localization announced

Hi guys, as you may have heard, Sekai Project just announced their official localization of Ley-Line. Yes, we have been aware of this, and that’s why work on the patch was stalled. Apologies for the lack of updates.

Needless to say, we will not be releasing the translation patch for this game. Please support the official release of the game; it will be more polished than our patch for sure :)

You can see the snazzy official product page here:
https://sekaiproject.com/products/leyline/

Blah edit: In case it wasn’t clear, our translation is being used for this official release.

Next project

leyline

I guess it’s about time we announced our next project: Tokeijikake no Ley Line (A Clockwork Ley Line) by UNISONSHIFT Blossom. This is actually a trilogy of three VNs, the third of which is not yet released in Japan. Naturally we are starting with the first VN, Tasogaredoki no Kyoukaisen (Twilight Boundary Line), and will move on to the sequels afterwards.

This project will be translated by Blah, and EsperKnight is helping us with the technical stuff again. I am on TLC duty because I am busy translating a different project – more news on that later, perhaps.

Welp I don’t know what else to write so I will leave it at that. Blah will probably edit this later to say something obvious that I missed. ¯\(°_o)/¯

Blah edit: Nothing really much to add. Just thought I’d say that translation will probably be somewhat slow/erratic until at least the end of April, due to school and exams. Hopefully we can get at least the first game done faster than Shinikiss.

Patch release

No this is not an April Fool’s joke. It’s not even April!
Thank god it’s not April. As if this project needed to delayed ANOTHER five months.

Translation notes: kouhi.me/Translation%20Documentation.html (also included in patch download)

The patch translates everything except for the Font Settings window. I made a reference image for that if you want to change, well, font settings. I recommend at least adding drop shadow to make it easier to read.

Please check the translation documentation before asking questions.

Messages from some of the staff:
Cypheriad: “You who have waited two years will merely have waited to be disappointed. Seriously, the game is, by and large, crap. And mainly large crap.”
TReusbucks: “advertise my wiki! :V” (Okay, fine. Visit decaf.kouhi.me/lovelive for your school idol needs)

As for future project plans, I can’t really say. Personally I (Shini) have been translating some things on and off, but they’re so far off from completion that I doubt I’ll announce anything until they’re almost done. As for the group as a whole, well, we’ll see.

And now I will go back to Kancolle for the next 5 hours. Have fun~

Edit: BTW the game title is Shinigami no Kiss wa Wakare no Aji.

Whoooosh

So as it turns out, progress on this is actually being made (!?) and editing is complete. I believe all of the technical issues have also been fixed, and now it’s just waiting on some final QC. Seriously, I am as surprised as you are.

Apparently there is no ETA on release date because our QCers have lives? What? Well, whatever. It’ll be out eventually… I hope.

And now a message from Blah:
[14:11:47] <@Menma> special thanks to esperknight for reworking his tools and no thanks to the three people who offered to help and then disappeared

Shizuku editing complete

I have received word that editing for Shizuku’s route is finally done. That is all.

Blah edit: The editor’s started working on Kohaku’s route, and it shouldn’t take anywhere near as long as Shizuku’s route since he’s not swamped with schoolwork anymore. Hopefully we can finish this project up within a couple months. As for an update from the technical side of things, word wrap mostly works, but repacking still kind of messes up some parts of the game. They won’t affect the actual gameplay, but trying to access CG mode and replay mode will crash the game. If anyone wants to help out, please contact us.

Hey guys!

Shini-tan here. There seem to be many misconceptions about the status of this project (and myself).

1. We have a handy staff page here. If you would take a look at the table, you would see that I am not an editor for this project and thus editing progress is out of my control.

2. Let’s take a look at what I actually do: translation (Honoka route and part of Kohaku route – already complete) and translation checking. The first half of Shizuku’s route is already TLCed. Now according to our progress page, editing progress on Shizuku’s route is at 0% instead of 50% (or more precisely, 48.7%). This is because translation checking is not the same as editing and for the last time, I am not the editor.

3. There are still technical issues with patching the game. The most obvious one is word wrap, although there are other things like the CG gallery breaking when we patch image files.

4. It’s spelled TERA, not TERRA.

Keeping these points in mind, I am very confused when I read the latest comments on this site. But it’s okay! Just keep blaming me for everything since apparently that’s what’s easiest.

Translation Complete!

The Shinikiss translation is complete as of an hour ago. You can find the patch here nope.jpg

Shizuku and Kohaku’s route still have to be edited, and we still have to work out the technical issues mentioned earlier (word wrap, etc) and a few new ones. But rest assured, we’ll obviously finish this up since we’re already so close.

In the meantime I will fill post space with pictures.

Honoka route complete

Honoka’s route has been completely translated and edited.
A partial patch together with the common route will be released sometime in the near future, but we still have to fix some technical issues and give it a QC pass or two. ETA is sometime next month, since Blah is busy with exams or something. That said, I’d personally recommend waiting until at least the Shizuku patch because Honoka’s route by itself isn’t very stellar. Well, if you want to boost our ego you can get the patch anyway to raise our download counts. w

In other news, Shizuku’s route is a mere 27% done, because Blah is somehow even lazier than I am when it comes to translating. Any hour now he’s going to edit this post to blame it on exams. <_< I've gone ahead and started on Kohaku's route, which is now sitting at 18%. Total progress on the VN has passed the 50% mark. Blah edit: Exams are terrible, yeah. My last one is on Monday, so hopefully I'll be able to make more progress in terms of translating after that. As for an actual release date, as much as I'd like to say sometime next month, it really depends if we can fix everything that needs to be fixed (the engine isn't exactly English-friendly).

Shinigami no Kiss wa Wakare no Aji OP

Torrent | Mediafire | DDL

Well, this took long enough lol. It’s hardsubbed because it’s really heavy on typesetting effects (I guarantee the softsubbed version won’t play properly for 99% of you without xy-vsfilter because PARTICLES EVERYWHERE). Either way, you wouldn’t really gain anything from it being softsubbed, so yeah, hardsub go. The script for this was a whole 1 MB for two minutes of video.

Enjoy.

Blah edit: Note that this probably isn’t going to be the final version that’s going to be included with the release of the final patch (if we ever get to that, lol). The quotes for each character are probably going to be modified for consistency with the actual lines for the game, and obviously, we’re not going to know what they are until we get to them. Oh, and credits after the jump, for those people who actually care.

Common route complete!

Didn’t want to wait until the scheduled status update lol. As of three days ago, the common route has been completely translated and edited. It only makes up about 15% of the game, so we won’t be releasing a patch for it just yet.

I will be translating Honoka’s route while Blah will be translating Shizuku’s route. We’re still working out some kinks with image insertion, and Blah is working on the OP. We plan on finishing Honoka’s route first, and releasing a partial patch together with the common route. No ETA yet.

I’ll probably stop doing the biweekly status posts, and just post whenever a milestone is reached… otherwise there isn’t really anything to say. I’ve also set up a Twitter account (see sidebar) which I’ll be posting updates on as well.
